This week, I had a great time talking with Darlene Arden during our teleseminar. We talked about a wide range of subjects, but focused on how a lot of what it takes to increase adoptability comes down to keeping it positive, which includes keeping the humans positive too. (Stressed humans lead to stressed animals, and everybody loses!)
Darlene offered many quick, simple ideas for how we can keep our animals mentally and physically happier while they are in our care.
(If you missed the call and are a Golden Paw Insider member, you can log into the NAPRP site and download the recording.)
In other news, I saw a cool query on Help a Reporter (HARO) this morning. If you're not familiar with HARO, you should check it out if you want more opportunities to be quoted by the media. HARO is a mailing list where journalists post queries looking for sources of information for articles, blogs, TV shows, or other media outlets. You get three emails per day by signing up as a "source" here:
http://www.helpareporter.com/
I can't repost the exact query (because doing so would violate one of the "rules of HARO"), but in general, a dog-related Web site is looking for information on dog "festivals" happening in July. The deadline to respond to the query is June 15, so if you want the information, please send me an email by clicking the Contact link on the NAPRP web site, and I'll happily pass on the full query to you. If you're running any type of fundraising event that involves dogs in July, like a dog walk or contest, it's a great way to get a little more online exposure.
As always, thank you for all you do to help the animals ;-)
